Gen. Douglas MacArthur

This is the Gen. Douglas MacArthur Marker located just beside the pier in Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro City. It was completed in March this year. The marker is a replica of Gen. MacArthur’s cap which is made of fiber glass and steel; spanning 8 meters in diameter and 5 meters in height. The five stars represent his rank as a five-star general when he landed in this place on March 13, 1942.

They said that this could be the world’s biggest cap in existence and perhaps land in the Guinness Book of World Records.

This is an amazing marker.

I like the way you captured it with a person standing nearby to give an indication of size and perspective.

Hope it makes it in the Guinness Book of World Records...
